My Visit to the Peach State

Hi friends! I know it’s been a while since I last posted but that’s because I went back to Atlanta to visit my family! I was there for a week and a half but it felt like time FLEW by! For some reason, that always seems to be the case, unfortunately. So much I want to do, so many people I want to see, but I never seem to be able to do it all. All I can say is that I try my best but there never seems to be enough hours in the day.

Like I said, it seemed like a whirlwind of an adventure. When I first got home my family surprised me with an impromptu party (well, it was more for Baby V), full of pink balloons, sparkly pink Toms, and everything in between. Can you say lucky girl?

The very next day we left bright and early for Mobile, AL. All of my relatives live there and if I ever have the chance I’m more than willing to make the 5-hour trek down there to see them. Family means so much to me and I will always do everything in my power to preserve that.

Had to visit Chickfila

Had to visit Chickfila’s Dwarf House

On the way down, we stopped at Chickfila’s Dwarf House. I happen to be a Chickfila fiend (LOVE their chicken biscuit and who can resist a sweet tea) so it seemed only right that we stop at the ORIGINAL Chickfila. Needless to say, it didn’t disappoint.

Baby Shower in Mobile

Once in Mobile, we were able to visit with our relatives, eat some great shrimp po’boys (see picture- these were ginormous!), and my Aunt Sandy threw a surprise baby shower for me. Mobile will always be a second home to me. Growing up, we moved all over the country but the one constant location and place where all of us congregated over the holidays was my Aunt’s house in Mobile. I love them and I love that area of the country.

After spending a few days down there we made it back to Georgia and it was back to full-speed ahead. I had a list of things I wanted to do and every day was spent doing that. Almost every day, we left the house at 9am and did not get home until 6pm. Living in a small town (now) I definitely can look back and realize that I took for granted all of the things that were at my disposal (and close by) while living in a big city. A big shout out to my mom, who trekked all through Atlanta with me to check out everything baby, furniture, maternity, shoes, and food related. I don’t know where her unyielding energy comes from but I hope to have that same amount when I’m her age!

As the week came to an end I had promised my sister we would make some fun fall themed crafts/food. We ran to Hobby Lobby and grabbed some supplies and got to work. Stay tuned this week for all that we were able to accomplish. Everything we made is totally do-able, fun, and fall themed! Hint(s): one is sweet, one is sparkly, one is rustic, and one is… for lack of a better descriptor, deco-mesh!
