What a great weekend! This past weekend was our 17-month anniversary and to celebrate we decided to take a little trip up to Niagara-on-the-Lake then head to Niagara Falls.
If you’ve never been to Niagara-on-the-Lake it’s this super-quaint little town on the Canadian side with tons of B & B’s, cute shops, tasty cafes, and wineries-galore. While we were there it felt like we were back in Europe trekking around. Going from store to store, tasting the local fare, and exploring all there was to see and do. While we were there, we had a fabulous lunch at a pub, saw an adorable Morkie pup named Kingston, did a little wine tasting (ok, so Ryan did most of it), and topped it off with a Nutella crepe, which brought back excellent memories of Paris. :)
Once we wrapped up at Niagara-on-the-Lake we headed to our hotel overlooking the Falls. Every time I see these waterfalls it takes my breath away. Their shear size is enough to make you grip the railing and grip it hard. It still blows my mind that someone actually walked across the falls on a tightrope.
The next morning we packed up and went for a great breakfast on our way back to Erie. We found a location of my favorite breakfast restaurant, Original Pancake House (I fell in love with their pancakes when I lived in Dallas and have yet to find another restaurant whose pancakes even come close). So, we had to stop. Can I just say… what a treat! The weather was gorgeous (almost in the 70’s) and I had the best strawberry pancakes ever.
Thank you so much to my sweet, incredible husband for planning this little weekend getaway. I can’t believe that in a few short months this party of two will officially become a party of three!
