Happy Thanksgiving Y’all! I don’t know about you guys but my husband and I are so incredibly thankful for all that we have been blessed with this past year. For many of us, myself included, it’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays (all of those black Friday ads and presents presents presents galore) – but, at this time of the year, it is important to stop and consider what we are truly thankful for.
Recently, I started volunteering at an overflow homeless shelter and I have very quickly realized that I shouldn’t be thankful for all of the “things” that I have. Instead, I’ve become even more thankful for the basic necessities I often take for granted and the relationships I have in my life. Let’s start with a roof over our heads in a home that’s heated. A warm bed. Good food in our bellies. Having a loving and supportive spouse. A happy and healthy child. An able body and mind. To me, it’s these things that matter. Not all that other “stuff”.
So enjoy this holiday season. Don’t forget what really matters and remember to “give thanks” for all of your many blessings. I know we are! I’ll be spending my day with these adorable two (and Jack the Morkie)… how could things get any better??
P.S. If you want to know how I made these tags check out Jaime’s blog, That’s My Letter for the full tutorial!
